XL60 Supercapacitors

Eaton Electronics XL60 Series is a large format, high capacity supercapacitor. The 2.7V, 3000F cells combine electrochemical double layer capacitor (EDLC) construction with new, high-performance materials. These factors allow the series to provide high energy for backup applications and high power for cycling applications and engine starting. Operating temperature is range is -40ºC to 65ºC (up to 85ºC with voltage derating to 2.3V). The XL60 supercapacitors feature outstanding aging characteristics: <20% capacitance change after 1500 hours at 2.7V, 65ºC.

Medium & Large Supercapacitors

Eaton Medium and Large Supercapacitors are a type of electrochemical energy storage that stores and releases electrical energy swiftly. Medium supercapacitors offer capacitance values in the range of a few hundred farads and can store moderate amounts of energy while delivering high power outputs. Large supercapacitors provide capacitance values in the range of several thousand farads, can store considerable amounts of energy, and are ideal in applications that require high power and/or long-term energy storage. Eaton Medium and Large Supercapacitors complement batteries and other energy storage technologies, making them suitable for industries requiring rapid energy storage and release.

Capacitors

Eaton Electronics Capacitors are a main component in electronic systems for storing and releasing electrical energy within a circuit. These two-terminal passive components feature two conductive plates separated by an insulating dielectric material. The application of voltage across the terminals creates an electric field, accumulating positive and negative charges on the plates. Eaton Electronics offers a diverse selection of capacitor technologies, encompassing supercapacitors and film capacitors. The film capacitors are known for their stability and minimal tolerance. They are tailored for use in electric vehicles (EVs), charging stations, renewable energy, motor drives, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and consumer applications. Supercapacitors are ideal for scenarios that require swift charge / discharge cycles and elevated power density. Their applications include vehicles, smart meters, and backup power sources across a variety of devices.

EDLC Supercapacitors

Eaton Electronics Supercapacitors are ultra-high capacitance devices utilizing electric double-layer capacitor (EDLC) construction. Combined with high-performance materials, this construction allows Eaton Electronics to provide various capacitor solutions specifically tailored to applications ranging from a few microamps to hundreds of amps.

Battery Management Systems

Eaton provides a wide portfolio of products for Battery Management Systems (BMS), including terminal blocks, fuses, supercapacitors, chokes, inductors, and more. Battery Management Systems monitor individual cells, system voltage, current, and temperature. When monitoring individual cells, the BMS balances voltages and regulates the current flow, and if the upper or lower voltage, current, or temperature limit is exceeded, the BMS temporarily disconnects the load or source. Eaton Battery Management Systems estimate the State of Health (SoH), State of Charge (SoC), State of Energy (SoE), and State of Power (SoP) in batteries.

Cylindrical Supercapacitors

Eaton Cylindrical Supercapacitors feature large capacitance for high energy density and utilize electrochemical double-layer capacitor (EDLC) construction. These supercapacitors combine the EDLC construction with high-performance materials. Options include an automotive grade and snap-in. Eaton Cylindrical Supercapacitors are suitable for various applications such as energy storage, solar capture, RF radio power, backup power, engine starting, medical equipment pulse power, and high-pulse current.

PowerStor® Supercapacitors

Eaton Electronics Supercapacitors provide high capacitance in smaller sizes and the lowest ESR values. Other features include high industrial temperature ranges, outstanding aging characteristics, high efficiency over the full product life, and a demonstrated operating life that exceeds 20 years. These capacitors also provide maximum energy savings and reduced running costs and eliminate the need for routine maintenance. PowerStor / Eaton Supercapacitors are used in alternate energy (solar and wind), medical (X-rays), computer (RAID storage and UPS), and industrial (elevators, forklifts, electric vehicles). They are available in cylindrical (HB, HV, and TV), snap-in cylindrical (XB,XV), and leaded cylindrical (PHB, PHV) types.
