Infineon Technologies CYPD3178 EZ-PD™ BCR-LITE Controllers
Infineon Technologies CYPD3178 EZ-PD™ BCR-LITE Controllers offer high integration in a pre-programmed controller as part of the barrel connector replacement (BCR) family. The device was designed to support ports with or without USB data capability. The CYPD3178 is engineered for electronic devices that have legacy barrel connectors or USB micro-B connectors. These devices include drones, smart speakers, power tools, and other rechargeable devices. The Infineon CYPD3178 EZ-PD BCR-LITE Controllers implement the current USB Type-C™ standard. This compliance allows users to quickly convert devices powered through a barrel connector to be powered through the USB-C™ connector with few external components and no additional firmware development.
The CYPD3178 EZ-PD BCR-LITE is highly-integrated, combining a complete USB Type-C transceiver, a soft start load switch controller, all termination resistors required for a USB Type-C port, and system-level ESD protection.
The CYPD3178 Controllers are supplied in a 24-pin QFN package.
