Semtech PowerClamp™ High-Surge TVS Diodes

Semtech PowerClamp™ or PClamp High-Surge TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) Diodes are designed for use in harsh transient environments. The PowerClamp TVS Diodes protect sensitive electronics from damage or latch-up due to EOS (Electrical Over-Stress), lightning, CDE (Cable Discharge Event), and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge). The PowerClamp TVS Diodes feature large cross-sectional area junctions for conducting high transient currents. These devices offer desirable characteristics for board-level protection, including fast response time, low operating and clamping voltage, and no device degradation.

Semtech PClamp TVS Diodes feature extremely good protection characteristics highlighted by high surge current capability, low peak ESD clamping voltage, and high ESD withstand voltage (±30kV per IEC 61000-4-2). Each device will protect one data or power line.

The PClamp Diodes are offered in compact DFN or SLP packages suitable for space-constrained designs. The leads are finished with lead-free NiPdAu or NiAu. High surge current capability and low clamping voltage make these devices ideal for protecting VBus, battery, and other power lines in portable, industrial, and consumer electronics applications.
