Texas Instruments OPT4201DTSEVM Evaluation Module
Texas Instruments OPT4201DTSEVM Evaluation Module facilitates an extensive evaluation of the features and performance of the OPT4201 high-speed, high-precision digital ambient light sensor. The OPT4201 is developed for use in various lighting conditions and behind cover materials. The TI OPT4201DTSEVM incorporates two printed circuit boards (PCBs). The first is the OPTMBEVM board that includes a USB interface to communicate with a computer operating a graphical user interface (GUI) evaluation software, a socket for plugging in a coupon board, and an MSP430 microcontroller that functions as a bridge between the PC and the device plugged into the socket. This board also supplies power to the light sensor and sends and receives suitable digital signals between the light sensor and the PC. The second board is the OPT4201DTS coupon board, which comprises the OPT4201DTS and a decoupling capacitor. The coupon board plugs into the motherboard, allowing quick evaluation using the GUI software when plugged in, and enables the coupon to be removed for direct access to the device pins for assessment in a system.
