(ADI) and Amphenol, exploring the critical role of advanced connectivity and semiconductor devices in enabling the evolution of aviation.

The aviation industry is experiencing an unprecedented transformation, marking one of the most significant periods in its history as it advances towards highly digitized aircraft. In 11 Industry Experts Discuss eMobility and the Future of Aviation, aerospace engineers from ADI, Amphenol, and other companies take a deep look at key aviation trends, including the electrification of aircraft, reducing aircraft weight, and optimizing power usage with advanced battery management and power distribution systems. ADI and Amphenol both offer a comprehensive suite of solutions that help realize these goals, many of which are highlighted in the eBook.

The ADI LTC7890 and LTC7891 are high-performance, DC-DC switching regulator controllers that drive N-channel synchronous gallium nitride (GaN) field-effect transistor (FET) power stages from input voltages up to 100V. Compared to silicon, GaN devices offer superior performance in high-voltage and high-temperature applications, unlocking improved aircraft efficiency and reliability.

The ADBMS6830B multicell battery monitor, also from ADI, can measure up to 16x series-connected battery cells for electric vehicles. Multiple ADBMS6830Bs can be connected in series, permitting simultaneous cell monitoring of long, high-voltage battery strings.

ADI's AD4080 successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) offer high performance at signal frequencies over 1MHz, enabling a wide variety of precision, wide-bandwidth data acquisition applications.

Amphenol Velok™ connectors are small, lightweight, and easy to use. These rectangular connectors are designed for low- and medium-power applications and are well-suited for aerospace and harsh environments. Their compact design allows for limited space access. Velok's spring-loaded latch makes mating and un-mating a snap by simply pushing to lock or unlock the connection.

Amphenol's Luminus series of lighting connectors are lightweight and configurable connectors meeting- MIL-T-81714 specifications. These connectors are designed to withstand high vibration and harsh environments, making them ideally suited for interior and exterior lighting in commercial aircraft, railway, and military applications.

The Amphenol Air LB SIM series is a modular, rectangular, multi-contact, and multifunctional interconnect system designed for commercial aviation applications, such as cabin service systems and in-flight entertainment systems. The SIM connectors are available in metallic and composite variants for robust and weight-sensitive applications.
